Lake Havasu City Schools Using Solar Power

It’s great! Everywhere I turn someone is talking about “going green.”  Now the Lake Havasu City school district is exploring the idea of turning the Lake Havasu City High School parking lots into the largest array of solar energy in Arizona, generating 100% of the school’s electricity.

I already knew that Lake Havasu City had great schools, but now they just got better.  Helping our kids become the next leaders of America and helping our planet.  How great is that?

The Lake Havasu Unified School District recently approved the request to install shade structures over most of the school’s parking areas.  Each shade structure will be topped with solar photovoltaic panels.  They are also Lake Havasu City Schools Using Solar Powerconsidering the installation of shade structure over school walkways to enhance electricity production even more.

This “going green” project will cost around $14 million which will be paid with tax credits, industry rebates and monthly payments.  That may sound like a lot right now, but the school currently spends an annual average of $320,000 to $340,000.  With no electric bill, the district will able to pay off remainder balance of the solar system.  And, in less than 15 years time, the district will have that money as an income.

Another great aspect to the system is the educational component.  Students will have the opportunity to study how solar energy works through the solar panels.

The district doesn’t know exactly when the system will be installed, but it will be as soon as possible.  Everything is currently in the works.

As a member of the Lake Havasu City community and planet earth, I like what the school board is doing.  It’s also a great educational opportunity for students to learn how important “going green” really is in this day and time.

How to Wow Potential Buyers

Many of my clients ask me what they can do to spice up their home and wow potential buyers.  And it’s more important than ever in today’s market to make sure that your home stands out from the rest.  Therefore, enhancing your home’s appearance will increase your home’s chances for a successful sale. How to Wow Potential Buyers

Most buyers are attracted to the same things when it comes to taste in houses.  Typically, consumers are attracted to large kitchens with lots of storage, open floor plans and big bright rooms.

Here are some tips I give my clients to help catch a potential buyer’s eye and really wow them:

·         Clear the clutter – Pack up as much of your personal belongings as possible and put them in storage.  This includes taking down personal photos from the walls, also.

·         Apply fresh paint – Stick to neutral colors when repainting, no bright colors.

·         Go green – Install energy efficient products.  This is attractive to buyers and is very popular.  It also increases the value of the home.

·         Add crown molding and wider baseboards – Crown molding and wide baseboards are very popular in all styles and types of homes.  They are very attractive and very eye catching.

·         Upgrade the flooring – Improved flooring, such as hardwood, tile or new carpet, can be the center of attraction.  This will also help improve the value of your home.

·         Add a deck – Just by adding a deck to your home, you add value to it.  A deck is a nice feature to any home and yard.  Many buyers also consider this a big plus when considering the purchase of a home.

These simple additions will definitely have potential buyers saying “wow” when they walk in the door of your home.
